Modular Illustrustration System for kids
︎Michael Cranston
This project arose from the need for our in-house design team to quickly grasp the mechanics of motion and animation in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, it aimed to provide the organization with a flexible illustration system that could be rearranged for various purposes. I had previously developed a geometric-based illustration system and discovered that the puppet-like nature of the characters could make a significant impact in motion with minimal effort, as people tend to overlook their rigidness. This approach also resonated well with the crafty nature of Shakespeare’s Globe, which already offers a tactile, unpolished theatre experience.
